Unlike me, Pietie is not a VIL (Very Important Lawyer). He is cool, creative, and funky… a little ginger-blonde boy who lives inside my head and comes out to play only after VIL hours. He was always part of me, but long ago, when I embarked on the highway of bad decisions, he ran away and disappeared completely, getting himself into big, big trouble by getting lost in a deep, dark forest full of vicious, hungry wolves.

After 40 years of searching and wolf attacks, he finally escaped and made his new home close to the deep blue sea and Dalebrook tidal pool, glistening in the sun. Dalebrook was packed with gorgeous supermodels and a handsome hunk called Deneys, watching from the wall.

Through cold water swims, beautiful sunrises, morning coffees, picnics on the beach, fermented grape medicine, and lots of love, laughs, and kindness, he slowly recovered and cautiously returned to his rightful place in my head… beaming, with stories to tell. Scary stories of bitter fights for survival. Of open wounds, falling down, disappointment, and giving up many times over again. But also inspiring stories of survival against many odds, outsmarting wolves, standing up, keep going, resilience, learning, self-acceptance, love, healing, and heaps of fun.
